Breastfeeding

1999, Health Canada published a review of breastfeeding in Canada. It was clear that young, less educated, lower income women and immigrant women were much less likely to breastfeed and should be the target of new initiatives. Our program targets this particular group and provides one-on-one breastfeeding support both pre- and post-natally.

The Program provides monthly group meetings/workshops for breastfeeding discussion, information, one-on-one support.. Sessions are open to all pregnant women so they can normalize a healthy attitude toward breastfeeding prior to the birth of their child. The workshops expose undecided expectant moms to a plethora of research data to support their breastfeeding decision.
