BOARD MEETINGS

Mothercraft's Board of Directors would like to remind all parents, staff and community members that they are welcome to attend Board Meetings as observers.  The Board of Directors meet on the last Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.  in the Board Room on the third floor.

The Part-time/Respite program has opportunities for casual care available.  Call 728-1839, extension 247 and speak to Trish.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting has been scheduled for May 5, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. Please watch for more details, including a guest speaker profile, to be posted next month.

MEETING WITH COUNCILLOR SHAWN LITTLE

Representatives of Mothercraft met with Shawn Little earlier this month to lobby for funding in this year's city budget.

We encourage you to attend the budget meetings throughout the city to lobby for the City’s continued support of quality child care.

The budget meeting for the  Kitchissippi riding is scheduled for February 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Churchill Senior's Centre.  For other ridings, please refer to the City of Ottawa website for a schedule of meetings.

BOARD/STAFF HOLIDAY DINNER

The Board of Directors shared a wonderful evening (and great dinner) with the staff of Canadian Mothercraft to thank them for the commitment, caring and dedication to the children, parents and caregivers who use the many services of Mothercraft.

BOARD MEMBER PROFILE

Susan Ashley joined the Board of Directors in December 2003. She is a member of the Program Committee and the sub-committee on Privacy Policy Development.  Susan enjoyed using the Early Years Centre playgroups while on maternity leave. When she went back to work, she enrolled her daughter in the Infant Part-Time/Respite program. Susan works at the National Gallery Conservation Department as a conservator.
